Our Promise to You

Welcome to 25MTC! Our mission is to provide a simple, effective, and safe platform for students to master multiplication. We believe that you should be in control of your data and that the software you use should empower you. This document explains our rules and how we handle your information in plain language.

1. The Rules (Terms of Service)

Accepting the Terms

By creating an account or using our website, you agree to these terms.

Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your password safe.

  • For Schools & Tutors: When you create accounts for teachers and students, you are confirming to us that you have the necessary authority (like school policy or parental consent) to do so.
  • For Parents: When you create accounts for your children, you are giving consent for them to use the service.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service. This includes trying to access accounts that aren't yours, disrupting the service, or using it for any illegal purpose.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or delete your account if you violate these terms.

2. Your Privacy (Privacy Policy)

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We only collect the information we absolutely need to provide our service.

What Information We Collect

To make 25MTC work, we need to collect the following:

  • For School Accounts:
    • School: School name.
    • Teachers/Admins: Name and email address.
    • Students: First name, last name, and class. Usernames are automatically generated by the system.
  • For Family Accounts:
    • Parents: Name and email address.
    • Children: First name only. Usernames are automatically generated by the system.
  • For All Student Users:
    • Performance Data: We record test scores, answers, and response times. This is essential for tracking progress and powering our adaptive learning engine.

We never collect unnecessary sensitive information like religious beliefs, medical history, or precise location.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used for three main purposes:

  1. To Run the Service: To create and manage your accounts and allow users to log in.
  2. To Show Progress: To provide students, teachers, and parents with detailed reports and dashboards on performance and improvement.
  3. To Power Adaptive Learning: To analyze student performance and automatically tailor future practice sessions to help them improve on their weak spots.

Who We Share Information With (Our Service Providers)

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or any other third parties.

To run our service, we rely on trusted technology partners to store and process data securely. This currently includes:

  • Firebase (Google Cloud): For our database, user authentication, and backend logic.
  • Cloud Storage: We may use Google Cloud Storage, or other secure cloud providers like AWS S3, to store data.

These providers are bound by strict security and privacy agreements and do not have permission to use your data for their own purposes.

Our Use of Analytics (Powered by Umami)

To improve our website, we need to understand how it's being used (e.g., which features are most popular). For this, we use Umami analytics.

We specifically chose Umami because it is a privacy-first platform. Umami never collects any personal information from our visitors and does not use cookies. It is fully compliant with GDPR and CCPA, allowing us to gather helpful insights without compromising your privacy.

Data Security & Retention

We take security seriously. All passwords are encrypted, and your data is stored on secure servers using industry-standard practices.

To protect student privacy, we automatically delete all student data from inactive accounts. If a school, tutor, or family subscription (or free trial) expires and is not renewed, all associated student accounts and performance data will be permanently deleted 90 days after expiry.

Your Data Rights (GDPR, CCPA)

You have the right to control your information. You can:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct: Ask us to fix any inaccurate information.
  • Delete: Request the deletion of your account and all associated data.

Parents and teachers can manage their children's or students' data through their respective dashboards.
